Frequently asked questions.
“Steve is an incredible teacher. I thoroughly enjoy our time and lessons together he is extremely patient and extremely helpful.” - Keith
How much are lessons?
Private lessons are $60/hour, $45 for 45-minutes, or $30/half-hour. There is a discount if you pre-pay or setup automatic payments for a 4-pack - $225 for four hour-long lessons, $165 for 45 min, and $110 for four half-hour lessons (must be completed within 45 days).
Currently, I am only teaching private in-person lessons. There are group workshops & clinics that happen occasionally, and you can watch the monthly newsletter for announcements of those.
How do I pay for lessons?
If you prefer to book your lessons a la carte, you can pay at the end of each lesson. My preference is for touchless payments, and I accept Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, Google Pay, and Cash App payments. Venmo and Zelle are definitely preferred. You can also pay by cash, check, or debit/credit card at the lesson.
If you want to pre-pay for a 4-pack of lessons, you can either set up an ACH eCheck automatic monthly payment, or provide your debit/credit card information for withdrawal each month, or by using any of those other payment options either at, or before, your first lesson of the four. Where are you located?
Littleton Bass School is east of downtown Littleton, near Broadway & Arapahoe. I teach out of my home, in a basement studio space, in a residential neighborhood near Euclid Middle School.
What experience or equipment do I need?
None required! I teach beginners with no experience whatsoever, as well as intermediate & advanced players. If you’ve never played and just want to see what it’s like, I also have instruments here at the school that you can try out. If you have your own instrument, that’s all you ever need to bring to lessons. I have amplifiers, cords, instrument stands, music stands, everything else we need, set up & ready to go.
What is your availability?
My teaching hours are from 10:00am to 6:30pm, Monday thru Friday, and from 10:00am to 4:00pm on Saturday and Sunday. Please ask if you need to schedule outside of those regular hours.
I have a live online scheduling calendar, available HERE, which is also available as a link on this website (upper right!), and also in the signature of every email I send.
That scheduler shows every time slot that is currently available in real time, and is live 24/7. Pick any times shown, and we’re all set! You can book multiple lessons, and even pay in advance if you’d like.
What ages do you teach?
Pretty much all of them! The youngest I’ve had is 6. If a child can count to ten and read the lyrics to You Are My Sunshine, they’re old enough to start. I even have kid-sized instruments here specifically for them to try. I’ve also had students in their 70’s and 80’s. It’s never too late to start learning & playing music!
What about Terms & Conditions?
Okay, that’s not really a frequently asked question but it is something important to read & understand, so here’s a link to it: Terms & Conditions. This takes care of the business stuff, so I can spend my time making your experience at Littleton Bass School a smooth, productive, focused, and fun one, and that gets you (or your child) playing and enjoying the music you love! When you sign up for your first FREE lesson, you’ll get a packet of information that includes the T & C document and other resources to get you started.
